Greatest meat pie ever
Here it is. The greatest meat pie I've ever eaten.
I experienced it (that's right ... I didn't just eat it, it was an experience) during my recent trip to Australia. I had it at the footy (that's short for football to the layman [and I'm talking Australian Rules Football here]) when my Western Bulldogs were taking on Hawthorn at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground).
It was half time and the aforementioned meat pie had been in the bain-marie (which is a pie warmer) for just the right amount of time so the bottom was hard and crispy. It was a little squashed on top too, just how I like them. The meat was Angus beef and perfectly cooked, and the sauce (ketchup for the Sepos) was perfect!
And to have it alongside my daughter Chelsea, sitting their proudly in her Bulldogs jumper (which is not a jumper but a short sleeve top - why do we call them jumpers? [a jumper is a sweater for you Americans]) capped off the perfect meat pie.
While I considered some U.S. destinations (we have family and friends scattered throughout.
