So this past Sunday was all about emptying our hands of "shells"...those tiny, broken (sometimes even good) things in life that keep us from grabbing hold of that bigger, better, more outrageous "starfish"...the idea that sometimes you gotta let go of the good in order to grab hold of the best!
And not to get all emotional here or anything..but can I just share with you the sheer beauty of the following scene:
Every single one of those "shells" represents a life and all that keep us distracted from the best...Christ Jesus our Lord.
And every single one of those "shells" was replaced with something far better...the body and blood of Jesus.
Father, please help us to remember that it's not just a Sunday-thing...please teach us to say NO at the right times and in the right ways, everyday...so that we can say YES to your son...the one who has already said yes to us through his body and blood. Please help us to be more like Mary and less like Martha today. In Jesus name, Amen!
