Some thoughts from our last meeting about Theology Proper:
"Most Christians would rather die than think; in fact they do." -Bertrand Russell
"God is most glorified in us as we are most satisfied in Him..." -John Piper
"In parts of Africa where bandits and warlords shoot or rape anything that moves, you often find that the only groups still operating are Doctors Without Borders and religious aid workers; crazy doctors and crazy Christians." [which one are you?] (NYT: Evangelicals a Liberal Can Love; 2/3/08)

I am very thankful for this class so far. I think I may have had hidden fears of what theology would be and how it would effect my faith. Pastor Tom has relayed what theology is and how it can be an enhancement to faith. Faith seeking understanding. What we need are more "crazy" Christians to show the world that Christ is the difference. Great job Pastor Tom.

John Piper's words ring so true. When Pastor Tom quoted Him, my heart jumped. This is something I desperately needed to hear.
What better way to praise God than with my life, handing it over joyfully, and being satisfied in Him! When I am satisfied in the LORD... won't people notice? To me, God glorified in us means people see something different...
Ya got me brewing. There's more but I don't wanna over-do-it.

Do you think it dangerous to admire personal convictions led someone away from a belief in God? If you consider that we are designed with a God shaped hole that nothing else can fill and this man's reasoning led him in the opposite direction maybe he wasn't asking the right questions or maybe his scales were unbalanced. The definition of integrity is the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished; a sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition. I would draw the conclusion that he was not reasoning with a sound mind and relying only on his own skewed perceptions while avoiding considering the whole truth.
